Community resources impacting quality of residential care for older people

Jacqueline Damant In progress

Introduction

Current evidence around the relationship between community capital and health and wellbeing is concentrated on hospital and community care contexts; it is believed that no studies have been identified which investigate the relationship between community capital and residential care contexts.

Objectives

The overarching aims of this scoping study are

1) to identify the most important issues around the topic of the relationship between residential care facilities for older people and communities in which they are located (communities could be defined by geography, ethnic or cultural group, religion and so on)

2) to develop a proposal for a substantive follow-on study.
