Building Capacity Award: Outcomes in social care assessments (OSCA)

Jon Symonds Completed

Introduction

The Care Act requires that social care assessments should be person-centred, and identify the outcomes the person wishes to achieve in their day-to-day life. There is agreement that we need a better understanding of what happens at the ‘interface’ between practitioners and service users through empirical investigations and some studies have shown that such investigations are possible. This project set out to investigate the feasibility of making large numbers of recordings focused on assessment meetings in combination with outcome measures.
