Shabnam Ahmed has worked in adult social care for the last 23 years; her activities throughout her social work career have enabled her to appreciate how integral research is to practice.
Shabnam is undertaking a part-time Professional Doctorate in Social Work focusing on supervision in adult social care. Her research is a qualitative study centring on the voices of South Asian female social work supervisees.
This career development award aims to provide Shabnam with dedicated time for her doctoral research. Shabnam will also use the award to expand her networks, and develop her understanding of the involvement of service users and carers in research.
