NIHR funding opportunities for local authority staff

NIHR funding opportunities for local authority staff

The National Institute for Health Research has an excellent opportunity available for professionals based in local authorities to develop as social care researchers.

The NIHR’s Pre-doctoral Local Authority Fellowship (PLAF) scheme supports individuals wishing to develop as social care and/or health researchers whilst remaining employed, or engaged, within local authorities or local authority supporting services.

This fully funded pre-doctoral fellowship is open for applications from 27 January until 31 March 2022. It will enable awardees to retain their existing employment contracts and salaries, whilst protecting their time to prepare an application for a PhD fellowship and undertake a fully funded programme of relevant Masters level training.

Find out more on the NIHR website.

The closing date for applications is 31 March 2022.

Those interested can contact their local NIHR Research Design Service for support in developing their application.
