Improving Research Methods

We aim to continue to improve the quality of the research undertaken in and within adult social care practice by helping to broaden the range of research designs and methods, and by ensuring that these are applied appropriately.

We continue to promote and build on our research methods papers.

Our research projects have used a range of methods, ranging from economic evaluations, randomised controlled trials, qualitative approaches. We are currently reflecting on our contributions to improving research methods for adult social care research over the last ten years.

Internships will be available from Spring each year to support junior individuals embarking on an adult social care research career. Individuals will need to be able to set out plans for how they expect to reach their proposed next destination such as the preparation for a Masters or PhD-level national fellowship award.

Funding is available for awards of up to £5,000 per applicant.
